About Freedom Primary School
Freedom Primary School was founded with the purpose of providing quality education to orphaned, disadvantaged, and local community children. Built as part of the vision of Freedom Children’s Home Nsumba, the school ensures that every child has the chance to learn, grow, and build a strong foundation for the future. With support from generous partners, the school continues to serve as a place of hope, learning, and opportunity for children who might otherwise miss out on education.
The school is located within Freedom Children’s Home Nsumba in Nsumba village, Mpigi District, about a 90-minute drive from Uganda’s capital, Kampala. It was officially opened in 2016. Today, the school offers kindergarten, preschool, and primary classes from grade one to seven. The facilities include classrooms, administrative offices, and play areas, all designed to create a safe and supportive learning environment for children both from the orphanage and the surrounding villages.
The main goal of Freedom Primary School is to deliver quality education in a nurturing environment while keeping class sizes small for personalized attention. The mission of the school is to empower children through knowledge, character-building, and life skills, preparing them for a brighter future. To sustain its operations, the school not only depends on well-trained teachers and dedicated staff but also relies on support from sponsors, fundraising, and the wider community. Plans for the future include expanding educational resources, strengthening extracurricular activities, and ensuring that even the most vulnerable children in the community have continued access to education.
